If you think we have handled your personal data incorrectly — got something wrong, used it in a way you didn't expect, or not respected your rights — we want to know so we can put it right. This page explains how to raise a complaint and what you can expect from us.
2. How to raise a complaint
You can raise a data protection complaint in either of these ways:

To help us deal with your complaint quickly, please include:
- Your name and how we can contact you (email or phone)
- Any account, postcode or reference details that help us find your records
- A clear description of what you think went wrong, with dates if you have them
- What you would like us to do to put it right
3. What happens next
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days of receiving it.
- We will investigate what happened, looking at the records and processes involved.
- We will give you a full written response within 30 calendar days. If a complaint is unusually complex and we need longer, we will tell you why and keep you updated.
- Where we have got something wrong, we will explain how we are putting it right and what we will do to stop it happening again.
4. If you are not satisfied
We would always rather resolve things directly, but you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at any time. The ICO is the independent regulator for data protection in the UK. You can contact them:
